I’m trying to put up a home gym for personal use.

There are many sellers but you have to make sure that you buy from a source that is reliable and offers after sale service. You also have the option to buy used but neat equipment.

The Renovation (And Relocation) Of My Home Gym

During the last month, I’ve swapped the two spare rooms in my house. What was previously the office/studio is now the gym and vice versa. It makes more sense this way, as the gym is now in the larger room and the office/studio didn’t need that much space.

In addition to swapping the rooms, I got rid of the carpet in the gym, opting instead for the concrete underneath. I also purchased a new smith machine with various cable attachments to supplement my existing free weights. My home gym is now by far the best it’s ever been, just in time for 2011.

What is better free weight dumbbells or a small home gym?

I was looking for weight training equipment and I can’t decide on wether to get a set of dumbbells or a small inexpensive home gym. I just need to stay in shape and help gain muscle. Thanks.

Go for a home gym. Working out more of the body as a whole will provide a larger benefit both to looks/appearance and health.

Perhaps later you can afford some dumb bells to compliment your home gym.

You can make a pull up bar for free — (you just need something you can pull yourself up on..) — That will work the entire back, biceps, forearms and so on.. I highly recommend you incorporate that movement in your plan.

Me and my brother want to get a home gym to save having to go to the public gym twice a week But how much would it cost to get a few machines to work our arms, abs, chest and back?

Machines are garbage. All you need is a bench, a squat rack, a barbell and some dumbbells.

How to split up muscle groups to switch from a full body home-gym routine to a short routine?

I currently adopt a full body workout on my home-gym but it gets boring and i lose motivation, so how do i split up muscle groups to work-out for a shorter period but more frequent throughout the week?

And say i work Biceps, Triceps and shoulders, do i still use my (3×12 reps)? and how many different actions for each muscle?

Just switch up days like i do, for example. Monday: Chest, Legs. Tuesday: Arms (biceps/triceps/shoulders) and stomach. Wednesday: Rest. Thursday: Chest, Legs..etc.
Just google muscle group exercises. like do bicep curls, triceps extensions, lying tricep extensions, pullups, chinups, dips.
