Headache sharp throbbing during a workout exercise?

The last 3 days while doing pushups or pullups, i get this unbearable pain in the backside of my head, it only occurs on the left side. The pain subsides into a throbbing headache and doesn’t go away without advil. Im 16 very active, have had migraines in the past, workout fanatic, drink 1 gallon of water a day

this could be many things including high blood pressure, injury, ect you should go to see your doctor and don’t do those exercises until you do see him and find out if anything is wrong! you know what doctors say " if it hurts when you do that then don’t do it!"

Does being sore after a workout mean the exercise is working?

i did an abbs, thuns, & buns workout tape and im really sore today [the day after]
;does this mean the exercise is burning my fat? or im doin something wrong?

When you workout your muscles tissue tears. Sounds bad? Not necessarily, when they rebuild themselves they get bigger. Make sure you take protein as this can help your muscles get bigger. Also when you work out lactic acid forms Don’t worry this isn’t bad either its just the process of fermentation going on in your body. Just make sure you get a full 24 hours rest before working out those areas again.

i dont have that much stomach but i have a LOT excess fat on the sides but only on the stomach area. how can i get rid of this?

Nothing can spot reduce, the best you can do is tone those areas up.

Tae Bo (spelling?) will kick your butt!!!

We used to have to do that in highschool gym class.

I also looovve Pilates for toning. (once tae bo gets you to your goal weight) :)

just wondering what the cause is of being sore the next day after i started working out agian and doin basic cardio exercises…any help? im killin in my arms and sides…

You just start off again to exercise, so your body’s acclimatized to the impact of it, hence a little bit of pain and soreness here and there is quite normal.

However, a deeper cause of this is I guess you didn’t do a proper warm up prior to your cardio exercise. If you didn’t warm up, you’ll be working on cold muscles which would be susceptible to not only soreness but also injuries.

Always start first with a few minutes of warm up exercise, to raise your body temperature and to get your blood circulated to all the working muscles, hence making them more pliable and yielding to the cardio exercise that follows.

What videos/exercise programs do you recommend for rapid inch loss?
I also plan to go on a diet to help me get better results.
I’d like to lose inches and tone up as well.
What would help me get great results?

I am 16 and have been obese before but have slim down successfully. I am here to share how to achieve it so read on, it may change your life. IF YOU ARE FRIGHTEN ABOUT HOW LONG THE PASSAGE IS, just read the 2nd and 5th paragraph onwards about mindset and setting a target.

Firstly, you have to have the mindset to lose weight! Without it you would not be as successful. In the past when i am over-weight, I did not care about my body and continued living, thinking that it would be alright growing up fat but society are just as cruel… I did not change until an incident which inspires me to be healthy and look good.
So you need to think of a target and the reasons for you to lose weight. It could be anything like wanting to look good or for health reasons. Anytime you feel like giving up, think of your target and work towards it.

Secondly, food intake should be lesser by 1/5 but eat all your 3 meals. And only eat when you are hungry although there are times when you do not know you are hungry or not(like me, weird stomach) so stick to your meals. Of course, eat healthier food. Details of healthy food or how to make it healthy can be found in the Internet or books.

Thirdly, find a sport or activity that will make you lose weight. Make that activity like your personal habit and do it often. I chose basketball as my friends play it and now i am good at it so make a wise decision of which sport to choose and go for it, no slacking. Surely there would be difficult as you would be in a disadvantage as you would be look down on because of your size. For example, you are playing soccer with your friends and they choose you to be the goalkeeper because of your size. That means you would be standing at the goalpost most of the time- result, no weight loss. Repel! Say that you want to be another position like a striker and make them pay! Go for the ball! Play the game like you would not play it again! Play it with your heart! That way you could take advantage of your desires- result, a lot of weight loss.

I could not go on cause of time limit and laziness, although I still can say a lot. But the mindset thing is already enough, the most important aspect of losing weight is that! REMEMBER, every time when you are about to give up, every time when you are lazy to go out to exercise, every time when you want to eat extra, every time you step into a fast food restaurant AND every time you are tempted to do sometime that you know that would foil your attempt on losing weight, think about your target, about what you have been through for the past years, being look down because of your size. If that is not enough of a reason… Think of your FUTURE, predict. What would you be like when you grow up. Would you get the boyfriend/girlfriend that you are dreaming for? Or someone who you would marry for the sake of marrying. Or do you think you could get a partner that you like just with your character or personality alone? That only happens in fairy tales… The modern world is not that kind nowadays.

So come on! Change yourself! Do your body a favor! Give yourself a chance to make yourself look good. Whenever you feel like losing hope, read this again and think about what you can achieve when you lost every pounds of fats and attain your dream body. That would be enough for you to make the decision to change for yourself.

I ended up typing too much, lol. So all this are from my personal point of view and all comes from experience. Haha, maybe I should be a weight loss counselor or something.
I have lost 20kg from obese(severely overweight) to healthy weight because of the power of the mindset..

what is the difference between a workout and an exercise?

I thought both were the same until i came across a website which gave me two options :
1. Custom workout
2. Custom Exercise.

I’d bet that they’re using the terms to mean that individual activities are the components of a workout, so you can pick one specific thing (say crunches OR pull ups) and choose exercise, or a set of them (which would tell you do do crunches AND pull ups AND lunges and…) and choose workout.

What is a good basic workout/exercise routine?

I’m 17 and just wondering what a good 30 minute basic exercise routine would be. (Specifics) I mean a good amount of specific exercises (for instance, like 50 jumping jacks, pushups, etc). A better way to restate my question would be to name some exercises and how much of them I should do daily.

30 minutes is not that long but its a start, for such a short amount of time I recommend running up hills Monday, take a brake the Tuesday, biking Wednesday brake Thursday running Friday and so on and so on, thats my old routine.

i always feel more sexually excited after a vigorous workout or exercise. am i normal?

after a tiring 6 or 7 miles run at the park near my neighbourhood which leaves me panting n extremely sweaty (coz i live in a tropical climate).

or after a one and half hour of gym workout which includes vigorous weight training and cardio (cross trainer)\

i tend to feel more sexually excited than usual after those vigorous exercises. am i normal? what causes this?
any of u experience this too?
