What is the best all over body Exercise/Workout?

Which is the best workout/exercise/class … whatever – to give you an all over body workout…

Something that will give you a good cardio workout and that burns fat and also tones all over the body not just 1 part?

The hormone leptin has been found to be a major regulator of body weight and metabolism. The body secretes leptin as weight is gained to signal the brain (specifically the hypothalamus) that there are adequate energy (fat) stores. Help!! really good workout exercise to get me that flat firm tummy and lift up the butt?

I need some really good workout exercise
I’m 17 years old i have a flat tummy but I have a little pudge(no kids) and Summer is almost here!!

I’ve tried
crunches, Bicycles,reverse crunches,mountains climbers,plank,side plank,squats but it seem not to work
p.s this isn’t my first time working out I just need some tips

I usually stay for an hour and a half for weight training.Anywhere from 20-40 minutes for cardio.I go to the gym 5-7 days a week.

I go to the gym 4-5 days a week and I run for 30 minutes then go do weight machines. I’ve heard mixed opinions on which muscles to exercise on the machines. There are groups of machines for lower body, upper body, and abdominal. One personal trainer at the gym told me I should do them all every workout where as the other told me to do a different group each time. Which is best?

id say do 1- 2 muscles each workout.. as muscles get worked indirectly most workouts anyways

mon chest
tue biceps triceps
wed back
thur shoulders
fri legs

train for 40-60 mins a session
do 3- 5 different exercises per muscle

What’s a good workout/exercise for your forearms?

I want to work on my forearms but I don’t know what to do. Does anyone know a good workout/exercise that can work on my forearms?

Honestly, if you work your upper body enough, especially biceps, you really don’t need to work your forearms. I did not believe this until I tried it. I was working forearms for years with some results. I have since stopped working them directly and they have grown much more than when I was working them. (I was likely overtraining them before. Believe me, they get worked heavy, indirectly.)

But, if you want to work them:
Those grip squeeze deals are good.
That deal you hold in front of you with a rope on the end and you twist it up and down.
Wrist curls/reverse wrist curls dumbbells and barbells
Any and all bicep exercises (especially hammer curls and reverse curls)
Pull ups definitely blast forearms!

I’m about to buy some workout dvds, but I am clueless when it comes to which ones to get. What is your recommendation? What areas do these workouts target?

P90X- its a full body workout for only about an hour a day, and it works.

I was just wondering how long you should workout on a exercise bike if you want to lose weight quick?

would it be like 2 hours or what?

And you also go on a 30 minute walk nearly everyday and do curves.

You can do about 45min if you have it set to high intensity, so it gives you more cardio in a short amount of time, or go an hour set a little lower, and you’ll get a little less cardio but longer time, balancing it out. If you’re just starting out I’d recommend 45min, and build your way up to an hour in about a week and a half, two weeks. The trick is the intensity; if it’s on low you won’t get much of an effect because you aren’t trying as hard. When going for an hour straight becomes easy, then start going longer.

What does the pull-up exercise workout on your body?And what does the chin up work out?

I think the chin up works out more of the biceps while the pull ups works out the forearm and back but does the pull up work out the biceps too?And does the chin up work out more of the bicep then the pull up does?To get best answer you have to answer all questions.Best answer gets 10 points.

Like all back exercises (the back and biceps work cohesively), the pull up does indeed hit the biceps. The difference is that the chin up (because of hand position) engages the biceps more while the pull ups do not. You are using back and biceps to pull on both exercises and the abs to stabilize yourself. Frankly I prefer chin-ups because I feel my back is worked to a similar extent but my biceps get a lot of work to. For most purposes though (military tests, gym class, etc.) they are interchangeable. But yeah, you have the breakdown dead on.

Hello there!
I was Just wondering: When is the best time to do an exercise workout? I usually do a 40 minute(DVD) workout most nights around 8pm, but often I am quite tired by the time 8pm comes around – the reason I do it at this time is because I am wanting to burn off all the calories I have eaten throughout the day, but I was Just wondering, is it better to do it in the morning, afternoon or evening. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Morning. It helps you wake up, and you get a pretty good feeling throughout the day now that you’ve excersiced and are slightly getting healthier. Most mornings, I do it before breakfast. But it would be better to have a light breakfast (just a fruit, or beverage), then exericse, then eat a real, full breakfast.

Afternoon… i really can’t imagine doing a workout in the afternoon where the sun is high, you went through a lot in the day, and are still going to do something afterwards. And its hot, sweating is good, but you’re gonna get tired faster.

Evening. your regime is okay, but as you said, you’re already tired at 8pm. that, and if your sleeping hours are at around 9-10pm, it might be hard to sleep because of the workout you just had (quicker puming of the heart, agitated body/mind, etc.)

How to get my girlfriend to workout/exercise?

Okay, so she’s not really fat at all. When I tell her to workout/exercise (not just to look better but it’s healthier for her) Then she gets upset and assumes I’m calling her fat. I can’t save myself from that one. She does get sick easily, allergies and colds or what not. I think exercising with help with her body overall and she’ll get sick less. Unless that’s not true?

Buy/borrow a book "why exercise is good?".Book is a good friend.Everyone realise their mistakes when they reading a book.I am also like your girlfriend.When my husband ask me to do I also react like that.Because I cannot do heavy exercises like gym, because I have two caesareans as I gave birth two babies.Books only change the people.Now I am starting to reduce my weight and work hard.I have lost 4kgs already.Good Luck! Don’t force her.
