Why are entire home gyms often cheaper than a pair of adjustable dumb-bells?
I haven’t found these to be more expensive than quality home-gyms, but you’re right, they are expensive.
I’ve seen sets costing up to $400.
They are compact and cover a range of exercises. They could also be used when travelling.
Also, the cheaper home-gyms have cheap components. Basic bench, hollow steel pipe framing and elastic ropes and pulleys for resistance. An adjustable dumbbell set has solid blocks or pipes of steel.

With the entire home gym, often you are limited to a particular exercise or groups of exercise. Adjustable weights let you be more creative with your routine.
Not sure if the home gym is really cheaper?
