Is biking better exercise for my thighs, or my calves and lower-leg muscles?

I’d like to concentrate a bit more on making my calves bigger and more muscular, so would biking be a good exercise for that?
Or should I do leg presses?

What would be some good exercises for that? )

Biking works both. don’t do leg presses because that helps your thighs. If you want to concentrate on only one muscle group, like body builders do, try calf raises, because these isolate the calves.

Toe raises would be better for the calves. Put a bar bell across your shoulders, then stand on you toes. You can also use a 2 X 4 under the ball of you foot to increase the effect. There are plenty of weight exercise web sites out there look them up.

Rob A is correct but biking is just as good. The main thing to pay attention to is keeping all of your leg muscles well stretched.
30 minutes of good stretching is always healthier and safer than any excerise for the same amount of time.A well stretched body can achieve anything it wishes.
A well stretched body is strenghtening the muscles, ligaments and tendons.

I hope my mere opinion can be of help to you.

I have only ever hurt myself by biking by starting a ride without a few stretches.
